Knowing what educational programs to choose for your toddlers starts with understanding what milestones your child needs to reach around the ages of 1 and 2. Early childhood education is crucial to the development of your toddler and research has shown us that it can be very beneficial to them in later life.

Children can enhance their motor skills naturally by running, playing with their toys, sliding down slides, and climbing. As they grow, they will become more coordinated in activities such as running, jumping, and overall problem-solving. As far as language goes, by this age they should be able to recognize a picture of something if you name it as well as say a sentence of two or so words. Talking and reading to them will naturally help them develop these skills.

By the age of 2 your child should also reach the following milestones:

• Carry several toys while walking

• Scribble impromptu

• Be able to stand on their tiptoes

• Spill out the contents of a container by turning it over

• Climb up and down from furniture without help

• Build a tower of four blocks or more.

• Kick a ball

• Throw a ball overhand

• Start to run
